Tents and Fires

Have you ever gone camping?Well I'm about to go. It is soooooooooooooooo much fun. One of my favorite things about camping is campfire. I like finding rocks to make a ring, and then finding the kindling, the fuel, and everything else. Then putting it together and lighting it. I also like setting up the tent. Last year in April Mousy, Collie, my sister Pom-Pom,and I all went camping at a river. It was pretty cold. When we all went down to the river we dipped a few toes in the water. It was so frozen it burned. There was a place set aside for swimming that had floating balls to indicate the space.Colly said Mousy, and I should swim out to touch the ball at the end.We got all the way out without too much trouble but on the way back we got so cold I felt like my throat was closing up.Finally my toes touched the bottom of the river. I quickly grabbed Mousy's arm to keep her up.( She's a lot shorter than me.) Well the trip was a lot of fun.
The reason I thought of camping is because Mousy, others, and I are going camping at the same place next April. Can't wait!

See ya next time, Goofy.

DOWN RIGHT BORED!

Have you ever felt just down right bored? Of course you have. Well here is an activitie sent in by one of our readers that you can do while bored.

An Activitie for you and a few friends.

If you're too bored to play a "bored" game well here is a game that always requires imagination. What If. Every one sits down with a piece of paper. They each write a question on it that begins with what if. Such as " What if you were a pig for on day?"
Once everyone has written a question on their page they pass their page to the person to the left. Once you have recieved a new piece of paper you write an answer to the question on that page on the opposite side. Then you pick a person to start. Person A. reads the "What if" question on the page their holding. Then the person to their right (Person B. ) answers the question with their own answer that they had written. Then Person B. reads his question. Then Person C. answers, and so on...

well see Ya next time,
Goofy & Collie.

Poetry Corner

Alone

Screwing my watery eyes against
the wind, goosebumps on my
arms,stinging sand
on my calves, scrunching my toes
in the lap of the tide.

Fun in the Sun

Thinking of going on a vacation this year?
Well we decided to take a toll of people's favorite vacation spots. One kid said that her favorite place in the whole world is a place called Whidbey Island. She has many wonderful memories there. They stay in cabin at the beach. They build forts, swim, float and steer on a home made raft, and many other things. So if you are looking for the ideal place to have fun. Go to Whidbey Island. This girl has a big vacation house on the east coast in the forest that they call The Cottage. It is a gorgeous place to rest, have fun in the sun, and play in the woods with friends and family. She loves the hot sunshine that courses through the leaves all year round.Well please send in a description of your favorite vacationing place.

Well, see ya next time,

The Nature Walk: Great Horned Owls

Hoo-hoo Hoo Hoo! Have these noises ever filled the air around you. I have heard them many times and have learned a great deal from the owls who made them.

For example you would say owls come out only at night, but I've had quite a few daytime encounters. Also many people think owls are scared of people, in my experience they aren't. I once had a memorable encounter which denies both of those theories. Once at around noon I heard an owl hooting. I raced outside. I found the tree the owl was sitting in without much trouble. He was in the bottom branches and when he leaned forward he was so close I could almost touch him. So that proves that owls do sometimes come out in the day and that they also aren't always afraid of people, not to mention it was a life-changing experience.

Other facts on owls: 1. Females are larger and have a higher call than males. 2. Owls can't move there eyes 3. I actually found this out thanks to the owls around; but owls also make a variety of squawks and they also make a noise that sounds something like drumming noises.

TTFN,
Mousy

Seasonal Tidings: 'Walking in a Winter Wonderland'

When Winter comes around again, I like 1. The chilly coldness when the door blows open. 2. Waking up in the morning to a winter wonderland. 3. The clean pine scented air. Please tell us what you like about winter.
